The Government will spend $2.28 billion to continue the Public Sector Transformation Implementation Project in 2022/23.

Details of the provision are outlined in the 2022/23 Estimates of Expenditure, now before the House of Representatives.

The Ministry of Finance and the Public Service spearheads the implementation of the project, which commenced in January 2018.

It aims to improve public service delivery across Jamaica by enhancing the quality of transactional services and efficiency in public spending.

Achievements up to December 2021 include rollout of the MyHR+ integrated human resource and payroll system in 14 of 85 State entities; procurement of information and communications technology (ICT) equipment to support the Jamaica Single Window for

Trade (JSWIFT) digital portal being implemented by the Jamaica Customs Agency (JCA); and the acquisition of ICT tools and equipment for the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA).

Engagements programmed for 2022/23 include establishing a shared office location for the Execution Unit, MyHR+ and Shared Services teams; launch of pilot for HR shared services and Internal Audit; and development of work permit system technical specifications.

The project, which runs until January 2024, is being jointly financed by the Government of Jamaica and Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

An additional $1.6 billion has been programmed for project implementation into 2023/24.
